Urban monuments preservation area Jindřichův Hradec [ Městská památková rezervace ]
Jindřichův Hradec became a town sometime before 1255.
The oldest structures are the remains of the castle - the tower, the castle palace and the walls.
The historic shape of the town is of interest, eith a triangular plan. Among the most important monuments are the chateau, the Church of St John the Baptist and its hospital, the Gothic St Nicholas´ Chapel, the Church of the Assumption, the Vajgar bridge, the town hall and the houses on the square.
