Blacksmithing became the life choice of Lukáš Kučera. When we asked if he followed the ancestral craft, he replied that one of his uncles was a blacksmith and had his anvil as a reference. He learned the blacksmith‘s craft and graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov where he improved his skills. He gained his first work experience after graduation in a blacksmith‘s workshop in Hlinsko and later went to R. Giordani‘s workshop in Italy for one year. After returning home he opened his own smithy in Turkovice.
He creates unique blacksmith works. You can see his work in galleries in Vienna, Brussels or Prague. In our region he exhibited in Choltice and Heřmanův Městec. He won valuable awards at international competitions and created monumental sculptures for SPEA Olomouc.
Since 2014 Lukáš Kučera has been the holder of the Iron Mountains regional product brand. After a telephone appointment he will be happy to take visitors through his workshop. You can order a metal sculpture from him according to your own design and requirements.
Lukáš is one of the organizers of weekend meetings of artistic blacksmiths in Turkovice where you can admire the art directly in the open air. The event is accompanied by a cultural program and workshops for children.
His home village is decorated with pieces of his work. On the “Iron Sculptures from the Iron Mountains“ trail in Turkovice you can freely access displayed works of art and gain inspiration.
