Pardubicko

The district Pardubicko has industrial-agricultural character. It is a part of (so-called) "The Bohemian Golden Tract", which includes the fertilest parts Polabi (surrodings of a river Labe). The structure and density settlement depend on the location. The district offers the sunny meadows, rivers, old canals and ponds. Some protected landscape areas are located in the district, a natural reserve of virgin forest Bukaca, a beautiful park of plane-trees and hundered years oaks in Choltice, typical landscape surrondings of Lazne Bohdanec.Pardubicko has a lot of sights, for example the Gothic-Renaissance chateau and historical centre in Pardubice, the catle on the Kuneticka hora, the Baroque chateua in Choltice, and other buildings - from the Romanesque church in Kojice to the wooden church in Veliny.

Pardubicko has area 889 km per square, over 160 000 inhabitants, is located in fertily lowlands, with the borders of disticts Chrudim (south) and Hradec Kralove (north). There are very good conditions for cycling.

The disrtict has a strategic position for transport, Pardubice has a chance to become second city in a republic, which dispose of all kinds transport - rail, road, air and river. The region has presumptions to become starting turist centre for Eastern Bohemia. The accessible tourism to attcractive areas Krkonose, Orlicke and Zelezne mountains.

The castle on Kuneticka hora is symbol of the district. Exceptional location attracts first settlers and farmers since long ago. The castle belongs to property of the benedictian cloister in Opatovice nad Labem, next owner proprietor was powerful Vilem from Pernstejn - one of the most meaningful men in Bohemia at the end 15th. and the beginning 16th. century. At the end of 30th years war was destroyed by Swedish soldiers and then was used like a material for bulding. The castles tower offers the nicest views of the surroundings (from ponds to Krkonose mountain), is the highest place in the surroundings. The Kuneticka hora is very important botanical and zoological location, there are a lot of unique flowers and animals.

Pardubice is the biggest city and a centre of the region. Important moment was for development of city, when the first train went on a line Prague - Olomouc at 1845. Railway means for the city - development of industrial and business, very good conditions to chemical, engineering, food and electricial factories, with these factores grows boom cultural and social life. Pardubice became cultural and social centre of the district - many activitions make every year in the city. Sport offers first of all Velka pardubicka steeplechase (the most important and the most exacting horse-race in Czech Republic, maybe in Europe), race makes regulary since 1874 and then tennis tournament for juniors (Pardubicka juniorka), tradicional race on the flat track " Zlata prilba " and international chess tournament Czech Open.

This region has growing tendencies towards prosperity, the supporting strong banking sector. The district comes near the big markets with the improving conditions in transport and telecomunication. All these possibilities support a function of a distribution, profits from the concetration of the industrial and business with some Prague's economics effects. All of these facts create with extensive net of services, get very good chances for next development. If you come to the district, you will find certainly many interesting places.
